Our story

Two friends, one dream

Sarah and Julie met through mutual friends and discovered a shared love for children's books. They dreamed of creating stories that would leave a lasting impact on children — and in 2021 they launched their first book, Seabed.

That same year, Sarah and her husband moved to Adelaide. The friends kept creating together through weekly phone calls — joyful long-distance collaborations discussing every aspect of the books: the text, the illustrations, the characters and the colours. Many a time they broke into joyous laughter, reminiscing about the characters they created.

Seabed Concert and the Seabed Friends colouring book followed in 2024, then Seabed Wedding in 2026.

Every element of these books has been inspired by the values we hold dear.

Julie is a watercolour artist with more than 40 years of experience and a passionate children's book illustrator based on the Bass Coast. She illustrated all four Seabed books.
